Makassar, August 1, 2026 – The Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI), Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasnidar, M.S., IPM, attended the Executive Strategic Summit (ESS) UMI 2026, held on August 1–2, 2026, at the Al-Jibra Auditorium, UMI.
Carrying the theme, "Comprehensive Transformation Toward UMI 2030: One Data, One Direction, One Pace, One Civilization," the summit served as a strategic forum for the university's leadership, faculties, institutes, and administrative units to align their vision, formulate strategic policies, and strengthen institutional synergy in advancing Universitas Muslim Indonesia toward becoming a globally competitive and distinguished university.
The summit addressed a wide range of strategic agendas, including data-driven university governance, organizational culture enhancement, quality improvement in education, human resource development, innovation, digital transformation of services, and the strengthening of Islamic values as the fundamental pillar in building UMI's academic civilization.
According to the Dean of FPIK UMI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasnidar, M.S., IPM, the Executive Strategic Summit represents a significant opportunity to establish a shared understanding among university leaders in responding to the future challenges of higher education.
"UMI's transformation toward 2030 requires not only changes in systems and technology but also a transformation in mindset, work culture, and the commitment of the entire academic community. Through this Executive Strategic Summit, we are encouraged to develop a university governance system that is more adaptive, innovative, collaborative, and quality-oriented. FPIK UMI is fully committed to supporting this strategic direction by enhancing the quality of education, research, community engagement, and professional faculty governance founded upon Islamic values," said Prof. Hasnidar.
He further emphasized that the journey toward UMI 2030 must be realized through collaboration across all university units by utilizing data as the foundation for decision-making, accelerating innovation, strengthening a culture of quality, and producing graduates who are excellent, ethical, and competitive at both the national and international levels.
For FPIK UMI, the outcomes of the Executive Strategic Summit serve as a strong motivation to further strengthen the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), increase research productivity and innovation in fisheries and marine sciences, expand national and international partnerships, and contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of coastal communities and the fisheries sector.
Guided by the spirit of "One Data, One Direction, One Pace, One Civilization," it is expected that the entire UMI academic community will move forward together in realizing a university that is excellent, adaptive, globally competitive, and firmly rooted in Islamic values as the foundation for the advancement of knowledge and civilization.
