Makassar, August 2–3, 2026 – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) participated in the UMI Islamic Strategic Leadership Reorientation Forum (UISLRF) organized by Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The forum served as a strategic platform for university leaders, faculty leaders, and work units to align perspectives, strengthen commitment, and formulate institutional transformation strategies toward realizing UMI 2030 as an outstanding, high-quality, and globally competitive Islamic university.
The event was attended by the Board of the UMI Waqf Foundation, the leadership of Universitas Muslim Indonesia, the Graduate School leadership, heads and secretaries of university institutions, the leadership and management of UMI Padang Lampe Student Islamic Boarding School, deans and vice deans, heads and secretaries of study programs, as well as heads of work units across Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The participation of all university leaders reflected a shared commitment to unifying the institutional vision, strengthening organizational synergy, and developing strategic leadership based on Islamic values in pursuit of UMI 2030.
The forum featured three distinguished external speakers with extensive expertise in leadership, Islamic thought, and organizational development. Dr. Mersa Gamel discussed strategic leadership and organizational transformation; Ustadz Dr. Das'ad Latif delivered a motivational session on leadership grounded in the values of the Qur'an and noble character; while KH. Dr. Arrazy Hasyim presented an Islamic perspective on leadership, integrity, and the role of leaders in building civilization.
FPIK UMI's participation in the forum reflects the Faculty's commitment to continuously enhancing leadership capacity, strengthening professional governance, and supporting the implementation of the University's strategic policies. Leadership values centered on integrity, collaboration, innovation, professionalism, and service are expected to become increasingly embedded in the implementation of the University's three core missions of higher education (education, research, and community service).
The Dean of FPIK UMI stated that the forum provided new insights and inspiration for the Faculty's leadership in formulating policies that are adaptive to change while remaining firmly rooted in Islamic values as the foundation for institutional development.

FPIK UMI is fully committed to contributing through the continuous improvement of education, research, community service, and innovation in the fields of fisheries and marine science, delivering tangible benefits to society and national development," said the Dean of FPIK UMI.
Through its active participation in the UMI Islamic Strategic Leadership Reorientation Forum (UISLRF), FPIK UMI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the transformation agenda of Universitas Muslim Indonesia by strengthening Islamic leadership, promoting excellent governance, fostering a sustainable quality culture, and developing human resources capable of advancing UMI into a nationally and internationally recognized Islamic university on its journey toward UMI 2030.
